Bee Sweet

Bee Sweet

Art is such good therapy for me! While I’m creating, I’m meditating on amazing things about bees.

They make sweet honey but they can also sting me.  I love the honey, but I hate the sting.

They remind me of some people I know, and since you are also in this human hive, I bet you have some stingers as well.

There’s a Bible verse  that says “Love covers a multitude of sins.” (1 Peter 4:8)

It doesn’t mean love overlooks sin. It means that we don’t FOCUS on the sin.

We don’t define ourselves, or others, by sin.

If everyone FOCUSED on the stinger, we wouldn’t have any honey.

The truth about people is that we are all capable of both good and evil.

I don’t think MOST people intentionally choose evil, but often we are oblivious of how our choices are effecting others.

We are all just trying to get through this life without getting hurt, but sometimes self protection is by nature selfish.

When we are selfish, we aren’t putting others first and if we aren’t putting others first, we aren’t being loving.

Love puts others first and this isn’t natural, it’s supernatural. The good news is we have been given supernatural power

from The Spirit of God & we are all  empowered to Love.

2 take aways for today:

  1.  Bee (did you see what I did there?) aware of our ability to be a blessing or be a stinger & let’s pray together to be remembered for our sweetness instead of our sting.
  2. AND, let’s choose to forgive the stingers and believe they are better than their worst moments. They have potential to “bee” sweet!
