The Perfect Job

The Perfect Job

For 13 years I was in the “perfect job.” I was using my gifting of the Strength Finder to arrange, woo others over, and communicate the plan for my dads (Bob Lenz’s) schedule at Lifest. I loved every minute and enjoyed the craziness of arranging. Although it was sometimes chaos and changes happened often majority of the time I was on cloud nine.

When my role changed to being more focused on Dignity Revolution I struggled to give up quality time with my dad but knew it was what was best. I grew as a leader and my enneagram 3 of achiever came out strong. I wanted things to appear perfect even if things weren’t in order all the time. Through a series of events I decided to quit my dream job. The one I had thought would be my forever job. I had built so many long lasting relationships and now I wondered what would be next.

In my exit interview was when I was offered to purchase the Known Women’s Conference. First off I didn’t know you could buy a conference and second I had so many doubts that I could pull something like this off alone. I had to rely greatly on God and others!

It is one year since leaving what I believed was my dream job but now God is showing me freedoms I didn’t experience at my last job. I have had freedom to work for my brother David at his store David’s Discount. I have had freedom to spend Mondays serving at my girls school and Fridays in the summer with them. I have gone on trips to Arizona, Wyoming,  Florida, Michigan, Minnesota, and Missouri to continue to travel which was part of the reason I loved my old job. And I have released stress I was carrying and burdens that were not mine.

God used my situation to bless me more. He goes above and beyond all we could ask or imagine. I feel He did this for me. I have more time with family. More time for me. More time for relationships. But most importantly time for Him.

What is God calling you to give up to bless you more than you could imagine. What are you clinging to that might not be for your good? Gain freedom today. Seek His powerful whisper to your soul of what is next. What is God calling you toward? Whatever it is it’s His best for you!
