Jeremiah 29:12-13 says “Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

If you know me, you know that I am not the most “techy” person. I have been blessed with the new iPhone 11 by Cellcom, a generous sponsor of Lifest. Now, I am sure that I am not using all of it’s features. So although I have a really nice phone I haven’t gotten all of the smart technology for my house.  The most techy thing we do have is an Echo in our bedroom to play music… I started realizing some of its other features such as telling us that our packages arrived or making lists for the grocery store. Okay I know that you are all laughing at my lack of technical savvy…

Yet my favorite is that my kids figured out how to use the smart speaker. They will go in and say “Echo play Frozen music” or “Play worship music on Pandora” over and over again… I love how they dance and sing and enjoy these moments.

But I wonder if you view God as you do your smart speaker. Do you pray and hope that you get a visible, audible response to your requests? A lot of times that isn’t the case. Sometimes I feel like I say the same thing and Alexa responds with; “Sorry…I didn’t get that.” I know that God doesn’t do the same. I believe He does listen and hear us but gives our responses in His perfect timing. We don’t always receive a visible, audible, tangible response when we beg and plead to the Lord, but He hears us.

Let’s view God’s Word as the best source of information and Truth we can cling to. Let’s not let the noise of this world drown out the beauty of what God is trying to say to us. If you take time to be still and listen, He will speak into your heart and soul.
